The IGA Coolum Kite Festival is almost entirely organized and run by volunteer efforts which enable the Festival to remain one of the largest free public events in the region. The Festival Committee welcomes your enquiry and hope that you will join us for the 2009 Festival.

The Coolum Kite Festival requires volunteers in a number of different areas such as, assisting professional kite flyers with workshops and flying, setting up and pulling down, children’s activities, research and promotion, writing skills for media releases, parking control, information tents, cooking for volunteers. (Just to name a few).

We acknowledge that the experience can be challenging at times but we hope you find it as worthwhile and fun. It’s a great way to meet new people as well as give back to your community. Our volunteer program is run professionally with training, meals and a uniform t-shirt and hat provided. We also thank the efforts of our volunteers by providing a great volunteer appreciation party after the festival and provide them with a certificate of appreciation
